Some Dental Issues Become Dangerous When Not Treated Immediately

Sometimes, good oral practices like brushing and flossing might not be enough to preserve your oral health. A dental emergency can arise at any moment owing to accidents or conditions that have developed imperceptibly over time.

Certain conditions require urgent medical intervention to prevent a full-fledged dental problem that can cause tooth loss or some permanent dental damages.

In such cases, a simple first aid treatment or DIY home remedy might not be effective or could even exacerbate the situation. Let's take a look at some of these potentially critical dental conditions that most of our patients call in about.

Dental Problems that Need Urgent Dental Intervention to Prevent Further Complications

Any high-impact accident that dislodges your adult teeth precipitates a dental emergency. In such cases, our dentists need to examine your mouth closely to make sure that there are no hidden injuries than might result in complications down the line.

If your tooth is knocked out of place, the best thing you can do for yourself is to try grabbing it by the enamel and replanting it back in place or placing it in a jar of milk. Once you place the tooth back in place, bite on a kerchief to wedge it down, and then call our office immediately at (469) 649-0699.

You also need to call our offices immediately if you're feeling a high degree of pain that's persisted for hours or overnight. That might be a symptom of a cracked tooth, teeth grinding, or a tooth abscess entering an advanced stage. If your teeth become more sensitive to hot or cold temperatures, you need to check in to our offices to confirm the root cause of the sensitivity. Bleeding and swollen gums are also other serious problems that you shouldn't try treating on your own at home.

If you're experiencing any of the symptoms above, you can find a quick solution if you contact our offices promptly at (469) 649-0699.
